January-July 2001
Christmas 2000 12/25/00
We moved to El Cajon Christmas of 2000 from snowy Susanville, California. So for Christmas, rather than shovel snow and bring in wood for the fire... we went to the beach!
Old Town 12/26/00
The next day we decided to visit somewhere historic, and more importantly, free. We stopped by Old Town San Diego and visited lots of historic buildings, including the Mormon Battalion museum. The art work is at the Chuck Jones Studio Gallery. There is great eating and theatre nearby.
Belmont Park 12/28/00
We decided to check out Belmont Park at Mission Beach. It has a roller coaster and a bunch of stuff for the kids. We also went to the beach.
This last photo was taken by Jeremy!

Dad & Jeremy 01/22/01
Jeremy found ourselves home one day while everyone was gone, so we decided to put our Sea World passes to good use.
Knott's Berry Farm 03/01/01
When California Adventure opened at Disneyland I suspected Knott's may have a special... and they did. Jim & Julie for a discounted Southern Cal. rate, and the kids were $1 each!
Santana Shooting 03/18/01
Here are some photos Julie took when she returned to school after the shooting. There was a lot of support from the community and other schools.
Horton Plaza 05/03/01
We wanted to go see an independent movie by Richard Dutcher called Brigham City, and the only theater showing it was the UA at the Horton Plaza. We had never been there and didn't know what to expect - it was awesome! Here are some photos and links for more info if anyone's interested.
Uncle Paul Concert 05/27/01
On May 27th we attended an organ concert by (Uncle) Paul Fleckenstein (son of Vince Fleckenstein) who is one of five finalists from across the world for the vacant organist position at the Spreckles Pavilion in Balboa Park. It was very good - and we celebrated with Mexican Food and desert in Old Town. Also at the concert were Paul's brother Dave, and his friend, Larry. After dinner we stopped by the coolest ice cream place - Cold Stone Creamery. They have a variety of ice cream flavors and goodies that can be added - then they mix it in front of you on a frozen granite stone.
La Jolla Cove 07/09/01
We decided to take a day trip to La Jolla Cove. the wedding photo at the bottom is a stranger. It just looked so nice I included it.
This was the "together" picture.
As we got ready to take the next one Jeremy decided to strike. The picture on the right was just before impact!
