Finished rebuilding the burned-down house, but it was re-assessed and with the out-of-control real estate prices of San Diego in 2005 it was valued 4X the value before the fire. Since property taxes are based on the value the county puts on it we were unable to afford the taxes so we sold the house.
By Spring of 2006 we moved from Crest to a house in El Cajon near Jeanette's high school. Julie's parents came down for a visit.
In 2006 we had job offers in Susanville so we moved back there.
