On Sat Feb 21st the materials arrived from Home Depot bright and early. The driver was able to forklift everything in except some wooden I-beams (TJI's) that were 38' long. Since he has to carry them "wide" he couldn't fit down the road. We tried putting them on my 1/2 work truck, but they were a little heavy. Trevor Isom (our framer) showed up because we were going to do the layout (show where the walls go with chalkline). He has a 3/4 ton truck with a custom-made heavy rack that could handle the load much better.

Trevor and I agreed to start on Tuesday since there was a big storm coming Monday. But come Monday morning he couldn't stay home so he brought a couple of his workers and we started in the rain. Studs were pulled and crowned, cut, re-stacked and the bay window went up.
On Tuesday the rain stopped. I haven't framed a whole house in 15 years and Trevor warned me it would be different. There was a lot more hardware to put in and shear panels requiring plywood that really slows things down, but we managed to get some walls up.
There is supposed to be another big storm coming Wednesday afternoon.
